GLOBALG.A.P. (www.globalgap.org) is the most widely used on-farm food safety system worldwide, in the fresh food supply chain. The demand by small and mid-scale producers in the region wanting to understand the relevance of the GLOBALG.A.P. system for international, regional and local markets is increasing. Moreover, compliance to Good Agricultural Practices (G.A.P) has become a prerequisite for access to; not only international markets but also regional and domestic markets that are increasingly focusing on exerting safety standards. Small and Medium Scale producers who need to access and maintain these markets require to comply with GAP requirements at the minimum.

Arising from this demand, GLOBALG.A.P. has partnered with Rootooba Limited to organize a GLOBALG.A.P. TOUR STOP in the East Africa region.

The TOUR event  comprises of two days of discussions on key topics and exhibitions, and one day of optional farm visits. It offers a great opportunity to learn and network with important stakeholders in order to provide the tools necessary for growth. The stakeholders include the GLOBALG.A.P team who are custodians of the standard, producers, input suppliers, farmer assurers, certification bodies, testing bodies, logistical supply chain actors, exporters, local and international retailers, development partners, policy makers and capacity building agents.
